Two looks at emerging regionalism . . .
I recently spent time looking at two of my favourite paintings in the National Gallery - H.G. Glyde’s “Miners Cottages, Canmore Alberta” and Carl Schaefer’s “Ontario Farmhouse,” and I thought about how they beckon to the more distinct movement of Regionalism that was rising in American art just south of the border at the time.
